Macrocarpa Cafe - National Park

This restaurant is a hidden gem that I wish I had discovered sooner. Unlike the majority of national park food options geared towards tourists, Macroarpa offers dishes at prices comparable to your local cafe. The food and service are both excellent, providing a satisfying meal after a long day. The atmosphere is not overly fancy, but perfect for a casual dining experience. The thick shakes are also top-notch.

A good place for coffee and a snack, or even a full meal. The steak was a bit fatty but delicious. There are old pictures of the railway being built and a nice cozy area for kids to play.

Excellent food (including the must-try Dessert Pizza), excellent people and a lovely environment. We'll done.

Great lunch yesterday. Arrived quite late after walking the Taranaki Falls track. Excellent welcoming service. Freshly squeezed orange juice yum.
