Marlyn, the manager, was a delight to meet, and the ice cream was absolutely fabulous! Carvel's soft serve truly cannot be beaten. Marlyn has done an excellent job maintaining the store; it was spotless and sparkling clean. The Carvel ice cream machine looked so shiny and pristine that it appeared brand new! I was thoroughly impressed. I enjoyed two large vanilla cones topped with chocolate sprinkles, along with two of Annie's Giants.
I ordered two large vanilla cones with chocolate sprinkles and two of Annie's giant salted pretzels, which were absolutely delicious! The experience was delightful and definitely worth the trip from Brookline. In my opinion, it offers the best soft serve ice cream in Boston, without a doubt. I've tried various places across Boston and the surrounding areas—Worcester, Randolph, Brockton, Weymouth, Plymouth, Quincy, North Shore, Attleboro, and everything in between—and I can confidently say that Carvel's soft serve outshines Dairy Queen, JP Licks, Jerry’s World Famous Soft Serve, and other competitors. Carvel uses a patented formula that makes their ice cream exceptional. It’s smooth, creamy, dense, and contains no air pockets. The service at this location was excellent, and the ice cream was as good as it gets. I had those two large vanilla cones with chocolate sprinkles, and the staff was incredibly friendly and polite. Although it's a bit of a ride from Brookline, it’s well worth the trip. I only wish there were a Carvel closer to me—a standalone store in Coolidge Corner would be fantastic!
I ordered a Reese's sundae, and it was so unpleasant that I ended up tossing it out. The flavor was cheap and overly sweet, leaving me feeling prettyGross.
I ordered a Reese solar bank, and it was incredibly unappetizing—I had to throw it away. It tasted cheap and was just plain gross. I feel really disappointed.
