Carmine's - Nassau

I recommend sitting outside as the interior can feel a bit cramped. The bread is fantastic—very thick and light. The portions are generous, and I would suggest trying the pomodoro over the penne alla vodka.

The food is excellent. The calamari app was tender, light, and crispy. It was exceptionally well cooked. The meatballs are humongous, and the Bolognese spaghetti was meaty and delicious. The quality is great. The downfall: the portion size is ridiculous. They say family size, but we figured four people was family sized. The calamari app came out on a 15 inch oval platter and six inches high. Several squid died for this platter. We could only eat about a third before the side of meatballs (6) the size of tennis balls showed up with the platter of spaghetti that could easily feed eight. If you have a large family, it is well worth the money, but if you are only two people, skip Carmines.

Friendly service and very helpful waiters answering all our questions about the menu. We were 7 of us with 2 teenage boys and all we ordered was garlic bread and the Alka vodka pasta with added vegetables and we were totally full and had absolutely no space for desert! The portion size is just humongous as it’s a family restaurant so make sure to order accordingly. The complimentary bread basket they give was cold with sourdough slices and focaccia likely. It tasted good. The garlic bread appetizer was warm and toasted. The penne pasta with broccoli felt a little bitter to me but most in the group liked it. We had asked them to make it spicy(chili flakes)and they had made it exactly what we had asked for! It’s a big restaurant but make sure you reserve in advance, we had to book ours 2 days in advance.

Lovely family style Italian Restaurant located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It’s the last one when you walk on Marina village street.Loved the ambience of the place.The complimentary bread is nice. Service was excellent, and we were seated quickly as we had reservation. They serve family size meals so one dish would take care of 3-4 people easily. Not happy with the dessert (tiramisu)but entree was really good. We had to keep requesting for water fill ups as the cups were really small.

Not really a fan of the restaurant. I’ve only gone to the location in Atlantic City, NJ and I was def. more impressed there with the decor and the food was really good. For this location my table of 4 got the chicken parmesan with penne a la vodka pasta and I didn’t like the cheese on the chicken. It actually gave me a huge stomachache and tmi..sent me straight to the bathroom. Good thing about the location was that since I didn’t get to make a reservation we were able to get seated outside.
