Nelson's Green Brier Distillery

Darrin was truly outstanding during our tour and tasting experience! The distillery has a rich history, and the spirits were fantastic! We also had the pleasure of meeting Spencer, who was great. I would highly recommend the tour, tasting, and dining experience—10/10! We enjoyed lunch as well, and the dishes were absolutely fabulous and very satisfying! We can’t wait to return!

I had a fantastic visit where I learned about the history of our local distilleries. The space has been beautifully transformed. Even though the distillery wasn't in operation on Saturday, Darrin provided us with an incredibly informative tour of the facility. The food and drinks were outstanding! We enjoyed deviled eggs, a burger, tacos, and mushrooms. I particularly loved the Blackbrier and the recent Cask Strength release.

This is one of the best distillery tours I've ever experienced (and I've been on quite a few). My tour guide and tasting expert, Chris, was a fantastic storyteller. I'm absolutely delighted to have had this experience!

The store is beautifully arranged and has a good selection of whiskies, along with various merchandise like candles, shirts, decanters, and glassware. The tour kicks off nicely with an informative guide who shares fascinating background information, and I won't give away the story—it’s well told. At the distillery, 12 staff members bottle the whiskey, but one of the rooms is rather unremarkable. Unfortunately, you can't see the copper still, as it's in a restricted area. After moving to a different tasting room, I discovered that whiskey isn’t really my thing. While I appreciate the experience, I likely won't return, as it's just not for me.

The tour concluded with a tasting of four of their most popular spirits, where Darren truly excelled. He was the first guide I've encountered who thoroughly explained the whiskey tasting process. To enhance the experience, they even provided tasting wheels for everyone to help identify and articulate the flavors they were experiencing. Darren took his time, ensuring everyone felt comfortable during the tasting. Our group of ten had an incredible time, and most of them had never tried whiskey before. It was definitely worth the trip, as they all engaged in lively discussions afterwards about the fun they had. I highly recommend this experience!
