Mike's Ice Cream and Coffee Bar

Had a chocolate ice cream cone. It was good, but didn't seem much different than any other I've had. Seating may be limited. There was a small line ahead of me, but it moved fairly quickly. Went back Saturday, the line was longer, most of the way to the door. The vanilla ice cream was great. The coffee available was only a single blend, I don't know what it was, but it was good. Sunday morning I came back for a chocolate milkshake and got a breakfast tea blend while I was there. Tips can be put on your card if you like. You'd better do something, for every nontipper a kid gets a mullet. The milkshake was good, no whipped cream or other nonsense. The tea was "Mighty Leaf" brand and was good. I was the only customer while I was there. Downtown was mostly deserted at this time (10am). Supposedly, while reading up on what to do in Nashville, Mike's is the best ice cream in town. Just around the corner from two places claiming to have the best burger in town. While I have no complaints with Mike's, it didn't seem much different than what you can get at any other ice cream parlor. If I was a local and not already downtown I wouldn't make the trip. Unless you can get a (coin only!) parking meter, parking is 20 or 30 dollars. Mike's should be seen as an addition to a trip instead of a trip for its own sake. Again, nothing wrong with it, there service and products were great, but the location is downtown with no parking of its own.

Great ice cream. But to be brutally honest the staff need to cheer the f*#k up. I had the mint choc chip and pecan with cream, the wife had raspberry chocolate and loaded caramel.

This is a cute little place on Broadway that is so yummy! It was very convenient after leaving a hockey game last season and is still a place I have to stop by when I'm in Nashville!

The first time I was in Nashville Downtown, walking around the brightly lit streets, I saw this small little place with a lot of people waiting to get in. It was Mike's Ice Cream. Being an ice cream lover, I had to try this out. It does not have a lot of seating, but people just go in grab an ice cream and get out. We did the same. I got a scoop of "Chocolate Overload". Their ice creams are home made and this particular flavor was delicious. Definitely worth all the attention it gets! Do go in and enjoy some good old ice cream :)
