Queen Chow Narooma

Miserable miserly portions we were in a group of 18. if their group is larger than 6, they are forced to have either the $70 or $89 per head banquet. plus they have to pay an additional 10% large group fee. we would have put all this into order, but the servings were so annoyingly small that we cook a meal when we came home because we had still starving. there is nothing special about the food (if you can get something) and even the fried rice was a small portion and was burned. with hindsight we would have done three separate bookings of tables for 6 and then al la carte without 10% surcharge. but then, with the advantage of the hindsight, we should have chosen another restaurant!

Nice meal but beware of compulsory 10% surcharge imposed on group bookings by this restaurant. Totally unjustified, considering the less than average service our group experienced. From the outset we were limited to a choice of only two set menus at $70 or $80 per head. We then had to repeatedly ask for glassware and sufficient water for our table. When dishes were brought to our table, no cutlery or serving utensils were provided to allow us to divide the dishes and serve ourselves in a safe and hygienic manner. Again we had to ask repeatedly for appropriate utensils. To finish our evening we were treated to further inconvenience and embarrassment when we received our bill. We were told no splitting of the bill was permitted and so as we attempted to sort out our individual payments we discovered we had been charged, or overcharged, for a total of 5 extra drinks which were not ordered and/or consumed by those at our table. A poor attempt was made to correct errors but we were told to work the rest out among ourselves . What a disgraceful way to treat customers who, despite having such poor service, you still demanded payment of a 10% surcharge because it was company policy . Not good enough ‘Merivale’, a BIG ZERO for bad service and this most inappropriate policy. I will certainly not be back to this restaurant nor any of your restaurants in Narooma, or elsewhere!

Best experience and food on the coast for sure! Worth the trip and defs skipping every coast town now this! Staff were amazing and even better they tolerated our behavior and we’re great laughs! 100% coming back!

A high quality restaurant for food service. Located in the dining restaurant of a motel right in the middle of town.

After our second dining experience here to say we are thoroughly impressed would be an understatement. The food was absolutely delicious full of freshness and flavor. The service was second to none with the stand out staff being Zoe and Victor, these two are an absolute credit to this venue. Our cocktails were complete perfection too! We will absolutely be returning to Queen Chow, Narooma
