Antica Pizzeria Del Borgo Orefici

Absolutely the best restaurant we have found in Napoli after a week of eating out. We did identify them from Trip Advisor but the first time we tried to go there it was before 7.15pm so was closed. Next time was closed for Sunday. This evening we arrived at 7.30pm and were lucky to get a table as they were almost full. Superb pasta with ragu. Delicious deep fried corchette flower with rocotta to start. Then pasta which was actually cooked unlike many previous encounters and the ragu was rich and tasty. Slices of tender veal in lemon sauce. Lovely. The Margarita pizza got lost in translation but will try that tomorrow as we have rebooked. We finished with superb home made tiramisu which was creamy and delicious. All in for under 60 euros including water, bread and a smooth house red at 8.50 a bottle. Yes 8.50. Puts the €10 a glass house red on Capri to shame!

You know it's a good place to eat when the Pizzeria is visited mostly by locals. Family run pizzeria. Friendly stuff. Large delicious pizza and not expensive. Highly recommended.

Hidden behind a corner, small but tidy place where you can find Naples excellence. Pizza and food are great, personnel very kind and efficient. Don’t forget to ask for “pastiera”, a must. I’ll be back
