Il Posto Trattoria - Napa

We found this place after our previous reservation in Downtown Napa was canceled due to an unexpected kitchen emergency. Il Posto is a neighborhood gem! Every staff member was enthusiastic and welcoming. Loved the cozy ambience. Eggplant parmigiana is served piping hot in a casserole dish, and I liked its generous layers of spinach. Service was timely and our servers checked with us regularly. The food flavors are very good, not outstanding, but we would definitely come back for its comforting ambience and wonderful staff.

Small family restaurant that feels like you are in Nona's dining room. Book a table, the place was filled on a Wednesday night. We had the sautéed calamari followed by the Il Posto pizza. Servings were generous and the food was delicious! Will definitely go back when in Napa.

Ivan was great. He's always very accommodating and friendly. We never feel rushed. Margarita Pizzas delicious and perfectly done. Nice and crispy The salads very good however a little heavy on anchovies in Caesar dressing this time. Meatballs a bit dense and chewy but flavorful Orrechiette w cauliflower and sausage always amazing as were the stuffed fried olives.

Very nice restaurant. Parking wouldn't be a challenge here as it is away from the busy Napa restaurant district! Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. They offer a decent selection of regional wines, although on the pricey side. My wife really enjoyed her Scallops dinner (and she tends to be on the picky side! I'm usually on the receptive side and find pleasure in most meals. But my dinner (seafood pasta was very bland and flavorless. The shrimps were small and calamari was laughable tiny. I ordered a cannoli for dessert and found it acceptable. Would I go back? Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely! I would however order something else!

Every time we eat at this restaurant, we have a great meal, and the service is top notch. We had the deep-fried olive appetizers for the first time, and they were wonderful. We will come back the next time we are in Napa.
