Hal Yamashita Napa

Hal Yamashita is a lovely, peaceful restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday with friends. The ambiance was perfect for conversation, and the food was exceptional. We tried a variety of dishes to sample the quality of the cuisine, and our friend who frequently visits Japan agreed that it was on par with what he experiences there.

Hal Yamashita was absolutely fantastic. The freshness and quality of the fish surpassed any other restaurant in Napa. It was far superior to Morimoto and the pricing was reasonable. The service was exceptional as well. We will definitely be returning!

This restaurant is authentic and serves high-quality dishes. From the Otoro and Chirashi to the Truffle grilled edamame and even the matcha ice cream, everything was delicious. The staff were also excellent. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant as our go-to place for food.

The food was good but the time it took to get our dinner to our table took way too long considering there were only 4 other tables with 2-3 people per table. Can't go wrong with Hamachi Kama.

Excellent Japanese fusion dishes. Top notch ingredients. Although I prefer traditional sushi, this is a great Japanese restaurant in the area.Service is good for that busy Labor Day evening with limited staff.All raw fishes we had were excellent. Best ikura I had outside Japan.Tempura was just ok. It’s in the set. Otherwise I wouldn’t order.If I go again, I will order raw fish dishes only. I feel that’s what they do best.
