Food was very overpriced. My burger was cold. The fries were okay. Best thing about it was the soda. Also no bathroom and the older woman who worked there was just sitting at the table in the corner staring at us. We felt uncomfortable, threw our food away and left. Will not be back. And I don’t recommend. Staff was rude. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

My homemade cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato was good. I enjoyed looking at all memorabilia on the walls. It actually made me think of being in a real boxcar of sorts. I meant to get ice cream in a handmade waffle cone but was full from the burger and fries. It was more fun going here than the McDonald's. I could go to McDonald's anytime, anywhere... but this is a one of a kind experience here in Bryson City, NC. Food: 5

I have to be honest, I didn't expect much from this small restaurant. The staff could have been friendlier, but we were really hungry. However, the food came out quickly and was delicious! Everyone in my group seemed very happy and satisfied. I would recommend it, but be ready for the prices – it was quite expensive! Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch.

Fantastic burgers and hot dogs! Kid-friendly atmosphere with enjoyable, clean music and ice cream available. Service was excellent. I dined in for lunch, and the cost was around $20–30 per person. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5. Highly recommend the Boxcar Burger, Hot Dog, and Fries!

We decided to stop by Boxcar for some dessert, and one scoop was more than enough to satisfy our cravings. The location is conveniently close to the trains, and you can choose to sit inside or outside. While it's not located on the main street, it's definitely worth taking a little detour to check it out.
