Contribuiți la feedbackI have been to this pub before years ago, and as we were passing the door yesterday decided to stop for lunch. I hadn't noticed before, but it said over the door that it was established in 1885. Now that is shades of Britain, something to last that long. Now it's not the Ritz, but it's small, not one of these huge open gin palaces, it's very clean, with lots of old stuff hanging on the walls. The staff extremely friendly, you almost feel like one of the locals. They have a very good menu for such a small out of the way place, and we opted for their "Ginger beef stir fry on rice", it was the daily special at $11.25. Well I'm here to tell you it was great, a pint of honey brown beer for $5.70 and we were very happy. I was also surprised at first to see about 5 tables all with people at them eating, but now I understand, the food is really quite good. Not far off the beaten path if you are in the Nanaimo area, with a huge amount of parking too. Well worth at least one visit.
Never have posted a poor review, however this place had terrible service and food could've been better, would've probably been fixed if I was spoken to even once after the initial greeting....disappointed
Great food. Great pizza. Wing and Prawn nights. Reasonably priced. Hometown local feel. Great energy
We had dinner here recently, and lunch a few months ago. This is obviously the "go to" place for this tight-knit community of Cedar. The pub is a historic building, nothing real special to look at inside (the usual TV's hanging in the corners with sports) but the food and service, and friendliness of the staff, are all awesome.
This place is very unassuming...I have passed by it numerous times when visiting family in the area. I finally stopped in and had the vegetarian pizza-delicious! It was covered in fresh toppings, and was enough to bring home and eat the next day. Good service too
