Nanaimo Bakery Cafe

Very cozy and spacious bakery with some tables to sit and enjoy your treats. The selection of confections was good, and everything we tried was quite tasty. What I really appreciated, however, were the friendly and personable staff, who were more than willing to share a quick laugh and offer some pressure-free recommendations.

We visited this bakery on a road trip to BC, when we had taken the ferry over to Nanaimo. Of COURSE we had to buy Nanaimo bars while in Nanaimo! The bakery was easy to find with lots of parking. The inside of the bakery surprised me with how large and spacious it was. The tables were laid out nicely and there was a variety of art displayed on the walls I loved that touch. They bakery offers local goods such as jams, mustards, dry soup mixes and so on. We chose a jam and a Mustard Lady mustards as well as Potato Leek soup mix before we even got to the bakery order area! We ordered 4 Nanaimo bars and a cheese bread. The staff were very friendly, especially when we told them we were from Manitoba and wanted to get our Nanaimo bars in Nanaimo. Another customer also chatted with us while she waited to pay. We placed coffee and tea orders at a separate counter and enjoyed our desserts at a cute table along the wall where we could look at some of the art. It is a lovely place . We enjoyed this bakery very much.

Make a quick stop. Could not leave Nanaimo without getting Nanaimo Bars.This Bakery Cafe is quite spacious inside. The decor is pleasant and inviting.The staff are friendly. The Nanaimo bars look and tasted fantastic.Parking: It looks to be a very spacious parking lot.

Cute little bakery/café. My daughter was getting a facial in the area I needed somewhere to kill some time. I had a nice cup of tea, a potato curry roll, a chocolate croissant ?. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, comfortable large spacious caféto enjoy their baked goods. Was $10.29 after tax a $1 tip I gave ?

Nanaimo Baker Confectionary. Just amazing to find such a place in a city of this size. The pastry: 'Torten ' German style, cakes, danish pastry, cookies, etc. are simply excellent and much cheaper than any place else and they offer a good selection. They also make their own chocolates, truffles or soups which I have not tried. The seating is quite comfortable and stylish. Neither Vancouver nor Seattle have anything comparable to offer. You can also buy home-made bread. Enjoy your lunch repast, but revel in your afternoon coffee and cake.
