Kixkaye (singaporean Hawker Food House)

When the Korean food invasion started in Naga City, Camarines Sur, people like me who have had so much exposure to the food culture in the capital Manila struggled for something new whenever I visit my hometown. Either I go for the usual popular food outlets like Bigg's or Geewan/ Baker's Plaza/ Graceland/ Red Platter (They all belong to the same company but with some bit of variance in what they offer), or go for the local popular Kinalas in some preferred food outlets, or lastly go for the usual available Bicol or American or Italian dishes being offered in most resto in the city. KixKaye is a break from these usuals but with a plus. The resto offers Singaporean dishes, and the plus is the taste is legit! Yes, you read it right, the taste is authentically what I have tasted during some of my visits in Singapore. The mixture of salty, sour, and sweet tastes, with spices, brought me back to the years I've frequented the country. It's a place where you would order for more of their dishes or go for more visits. Also, another plus of the establishment is that the owner, who I believe is the main chef is very nice. The laksa is a must. Though one of its main ingredients uses a local alternative, the taste is not affected. A true hidden gem! I've been looking for a good Nasi Lemak in the PH for some time. I tried one in Manila from a big chain and it wasn't that great. This one is the real deal! And so affordable! Brings back memories from my mornings in Penang

If you're looking for an Authentic Singaporean dish, this is the place to go. In addition to the food, I also like their place because it's cozy. The only issue was my kid didn't like the foods because it's spicy for him.
