Pupuseria El Pampero - Nacogdoches

Fantastic and authentic restaurant that makes you feel at home. The Jalapeno-Poppers are poppin'. The Puposas are also incredible.

El Pampero gets five stars, not because it is the most beautiful place in the city, but because it provides more value than expected. The Papusas are wonderful as well as the Burritos and Tacos. I love you to sit in your own room.

Wow. From the outside it seems like any of a thousand small hole-in-the-wall hispanic kitchens, but no. The quality of food and the pride of preparation are exceptional. A quick summit in the kitchen shows a model of cleanliness and order that I have not seen before (and I always see). Salvadoran food is somewhat different from mexican, but is familiar enough not intimidating or too exotic. Lighter on spices as mexican, the East Texa Palace will find it attractive. I'm back!

The pupusas come from piping hot and the fiets are delicious. I love everyone who has spinach in them. Service is good and they are really friendly. I must love good cheap food.

I decided to try this place because we were visiting from out of town and I wanted a quality experience that would be unique to Nacogdoches. Boy did we find it. This is just unlike anything you've ever had. The banana chips and salsa were really unique and delicious. The pupusas were excellent. The environment was clean and the staff was nice. Great job!
