Taqueria El Zarape - N. McAllen

Horrible place.I will never go back.The place smelled like sewer and to top it of there was a big roach crawling the window next to where we were sitting.I let the manager know all he said was oh someone left the door open.We moved to a other table and they didn't even bother to kill it. I wanted to puke. My taco meat was grey. Never again.

This place takes for ever to serve you. I have been waiting in line for 45 minutes and they still haven't brought my food.

7/1/24 Ordered a bistek taco combo, but ended up with chicken. I didn't tell the cashier since I was hungry. Plus she was busy with other customers. The chicken was dry. The beans 1/2 potato were good warm, except I had to ask for extra bacon bits shredded cheese. Good thing they don't charge extra for that... Like another (competitor) taqueria.

Food is cold, and Management is awful, rude, no customer service experience, no badges. I won't go back.

Mexican food is a tough gig to compete with, here in the Valley. But what I like about this place is that it's Mexican food that you can get through a drive through window. This is the primary reason I come by. Mexican food, like Pancho's or street tacos, all through a drive thru, without a long wait.The prices are reasonable, which is another plus.You can eat inside, but once you try the drive thru, and see the prices, you'll be hooked.I haven't had a bad experience yet.
