Black Crust Pizzeria - Myrdalshreppur

The #10 is the vegan pizza option they can do black crust or sourdough crust so we tried both! Great flavors, lots of veggies, and hits the spot after a long, cold day of exploring water falls, ATV’ing, and driving. The also had some vegan dessert options but we skipped those during this visit.

There is one vegan pizza choice on the menu #10 date pesto, mushrooms, red onions, pulled BBQ soy mince, vegan cheese, basil). My 3 year old only likes cheese pizza, so I asked if they could do that. They seemed surprised, but entered it into the register as a margarita pizza #9) with vegan cheese, no cherry tomatoes or basil. The cheese was very runny, and the crust is super thin, so I had to teach my son to fold the pizza to eat it. He thought it was fun!

There is only one vegan pizza but it is a unique mix and surprisingly good. One pizza was enough to split between two people. We also had some draft beers and the brownie with ice cream which was a great way to cap off the meal.

Although they don’t have a vegan black crust pizza (it’s sourdough), it’s really good and the vegan cheese is not overwhelming. They also have a vegan dessert: brownies with vegan vanilla ice cream! I didn’t try it because I was so full but I love that it was an option! The atmosphere is beautiful and I highly recommend, it was busy!

You can choose between black crust pizza or „regular“ sourdough pizza. Not quite sure if the black crust is vegan though I didn’t ask or look it up.
