Hornback's Shawnee - Muskogee

Ian and I stayed overnight in Muskogee, and this morning we didn't want to deal with the breakfast options at our hotel, so we decided to try Hornbacks since it was conveniently nearby. Ian ordered sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits along with hash browns. He enjoyed everything, but his only complaint was that the cookie was so misshapen it looked like it needed some structural support to hold together. I opted for two eggs over light, a substantial piece of ham (which was quite large!), grits, and biscuits with gravy. The eggs were good, and the ham was excellent—smoked and very flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the biscuit; it was a bit crumbly but paired nicely with the gravy.

I wish I had pics...look, driving up it don't look like much...it looks plane Jane but....once in, staff was all over it! Reminds of a Waffle House a lot! I had breakfast! Ourselves was awesome and was ensuring she took good care of us. Coffee was good, food was tasty all though a lot and I will say it agsin....again.... friendly people here! I'd come back.

Great comfort food and come hungry because portions are plentiful

I can not say enough good about this place! It's by far the best greasy spoon I've had in a long time and one of the best ever! The cook has been working here since 1974. That just blew my mind. He is SUPER nice too. I over heard one of the waitresses saying that she has been there for seventeen years and that the owners are a great family to work for. Says a lot in my book. This place is not fancy at all but you'll get great Cafe style food!

This place is really good. Big portions and cooked perfectly. Very welcoming too.
