My most recent visit was around a month ago for my mother's birthday and I can say that the quality of the food has always remained and stayed consistent from when I can remember. The servings are quite large and affordable for the amount of food you get. The ambiance is also great but on weekends, it can get really packed and noisy due to all the other families dining in the restaurant. The Alabang branch is very different from the GH branch, in terms of quality. Firstly, we had a reservation on a Sunday lunch, but the restaurant failed to reserve a table for 4. So upon our arrival, we had to wait for a table to be available. With regards to the food, it was so-so. The Hakaw was poorly made as the skin had fallen apart when using chopsticks. The shrimp with sotanghon dish would have been good had the sauce gone to the shrimp instead of the noodles [shrimp(s) were flavourless and overcooked]. The Peking duck was great however they put too much sauce in the wrapper with the skin+meat. Overall, quality was sub-par.
Long time residents of the South would surely recount a fond memory or two here at Gloria Maris. Before they relocated at the Commerce Mall of Alabang Town Center, they used to occupy their own two floor building along the restaurant row beside the Church. After our annual Visita Iglesia during Holy Week, we make sure to have this area on our last stop so we can dine in at Gloria Maris since they are open during the Maundy Thursdays. Luk yuen still serves the best cone in my book. the rice flours depend on your type of topping. the sweet and sour pork is a safe option a lot of luck looking for a seat without nearby old flee that let a big sneeze in direction.
The beancurd rolle and the fish fillet with broccoli test. the skin of the beancurd roll was a bit too hard for me, so it was hard to cut it because it was not soft at all, as it was too chewing. the fish fillet was so, but the portion size is large.
