After initially being asked to wait for 30 mins, one of the staffs asked to return to the reception, labeling as outsiders. There is no clear communication on the policy and for such a restaurant, the staffs need the basic etiquette training that they lacked. Inaccurate listing and unclear communication put with substandard etiquette has made the whole experience distasteful
This restaurant has been generically listed on google, just like any other. Following a 5km walk, we reached this restaurant for breakfast. After waiting inside for 30 minutes, a staff member approached us, instructing us to return to reception, labeling us as OUTSIDERS . The lack of clear communication regarding their policy for serving only stay-in guests, and the disrespectful treatment towards WALK-IN GUESTS, was extremely disappointing. This establishment needs to have accurate listing, and address its hospitality approach and customer service etiquette.
Hospitality Review: Unmet Expectations Following a lengthy 5-hour drive from Kodaikanal, we arrived at this establishment at 3:30pm, guided by Google Maps and positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not match our anticipation. Upon our arrival, we informed the management that we were there solely to dine at their restaurant. This seemed to shift their demeanor, leading to a less welcoming attitude. They asked us to wait outside, only to inform us later that they could serve just tea and coffee, not the meal we were looking forward to. Suggestions for Improvement: 1. Google Maps Listing Clarity: If the restaurant is exclusive to guests staying on the property, this should be clearly indicated on their Google Maps listing. This would prevent any misunderstandings for those just looking to dine. 2. Reservation Policy Transparency: Should the restaurant operate on a reservation-only basis, it's crucial that this information is prominently displayed in their online listing. 3. Accurate Kitchen Hours: The operational hours of the kitchen should be precisely communicated to avoid inconvenience to guests. The journey to this location in Munnar is not easy drive. In light of this, accurate and clear information is essential for those making the effort to visit. Our experience underlines the need for improved communication and hospitality, particularly in remote establishments.
Its not very often that you find everything good with a restaurant. Hill spice Munnar will surprise you with its location, service and food. Its a little away from the main town but worth the drive. The staff is super friendly, ambience excellent and food tasty. Definately something you should check out if you are in Munnar. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
