Stonegrill Restaurant - Club Mulwala

Thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Hot Stone cooking was fun and there were many choices from steak to seafood to vegetarian and easy for the gluten free members of our group too. Nice to have a fine dining option at Club Mulwala for a special meal. Staff were great too.

Hubby and i went there for dinner Thursday night. It was very average for the price you pay. Facilities are good. A very large venue. Would not rush back for a meal.

This style of restaurant, where you cook your own food was very popular in Melbourne Hotels and Restaurants in the 1980's.We had heard good reports and so my wife and I made a booking.The ambience of the venue was good as was the service and the food and it brought back fond memories of a bygone era.If you want a different dining experience then this is worth trying, although I realise that some people can't come to terms with the idea of paying more to cook your own meals.

You are expected to cook your food on a very hot stone which is put in front of you. My wife had a vegetable pave but it wasn't a pave at all. It was a heap of raw vegetables which wouldn't cook on the stone. I had a steak which was ok but a good steak should be cooked whole and rested before eating. Clearly they don't have a good enough chef to cook for their best restaurant. For what you get, it is very expensive.The waitress was friendly and efficient.I will never eat there again.

Good value with Discount from Club Mulwala stay. Food is fresh but prawns weren't available for the seafood entree when we visited. Cooking on a stone grill is a novelty but I prefer someone else to do the cooking when I go out. Recommend wearing dark clothes to protect from spatter and take some perfume to give yourself a spray afterwards!
