To-day we enjoyed the best Lamb burgers ever! Having visited 2 other restaurants in Toronto decided this place stands up well! Quiet country and very good food always with simple quiet service.
We visited the Pub this afternoon for lunch. We arrived midafternoon so it was not busy. Service was quick. My wife had the turkey Pot Pie and a side salad from a local organic grower. I had the prime rib beef sandwich ( with melted cheese) with a side bowl of tomato soup. The sandwich was medium size, which was suitable for me. (Sandwiches don't need to be huge.) Everything was very tasty. We've been here a few times before and will certainly return. The Pub is a gem in a very rural setting. Off the beaten track and worth finding.
Very quaint, fabulous food, both fine dining & bar style food options, wonderful friendly service. Entire restaurant not very large, so doesn't get overly noisy.
We had been helping lift the dust off the roads. Three of us middle aged guys out for an early spring motorcycle ride through some of Ontarios best backroads. We had stopped at Hockley Valley on Easter Saturday to a closed venue. Many other motorized and human powered two wheelers had been hanging about with nowhere to go. Our gang was talking to an adventure Ducati rider when he recommended the Public House in Terra Nova. To ride paved roads you enter Terra Nova from the west or east on River Road or come up from the south. Arriving from the north is gravel. (If you're riding a DualSport be sure to try every concession with no exit signage, you will find unserviced roads everywhere and they are awesome, the more calories you burn the more awesome food you can consume.) coming in from the front facing River Road (the east west road) we couldn't find our way in. No other vehicles were there yet and the only indication they were open was a hanging plaque saying OPEN. We almost left. The entry to this gen of an eatery is at the back right corner of the lot. If there had been other diners we would have heard them. To that end the first thirty minutes we were there it filled up. The three of us sat outside on the well kept cement raised patio. Staff were awesome and clearly fans of the two wheel. The owner has an older dirt bike in the front of the building.(not part of the restaurant)The food was great. So great that we will make it a ritual stop every time we ate up here. In the fall it would make for a romantic tour and dinner with a partner. We all did the burgers. They were hand made, grass fed free range and were likely related to some we passed getting here. Fries were crispy and high level, Ceasar salads were not from a jar, I would suspect that very little here arrives in a can before making its way to a guests table. Cool micro beers on tap, somehow this place has all the edgy hipster menu ideas but they are original still and never trite. This was super dope casual fine dining. A few minutes in the dude who recommended the place, Jeff C., arrived. Sat next to our group and we shared ride stories for an hour, watched a limitless parade of motorcycles and sports cars quietly roll thru town. Do not pass this place up!
