New Forest Estate - Mullingar

My husband received a gift voucher for a meal and we decided to go for Sunday lunch today. Absolute disaster from beginning to end. Starter of Brie was just awful. Pint of moretti with meal was so stale. Mains of beef with a Yorkshire pudding cut in half! Potatoes and veg very stale, definately not cooked on the day. Very little meat which had no flavour at all. Same for my own turkey ham. Honestly the worse I 've ever had in my lifetime. But what was even worse was the fact that the inexperienced staff completely ignored us and made no attempt to look after our table. They walked in and out of the dining room like zombies. I was extremely disappointed as this was gifted to my husband. When I was booking the table I said on the phone that I had a voucher. Big mistake that was because once they have the money, they clearly do not care! Staff had no interest in serving our table and what they did serve was a disgrace. We actually got up to leave after the dinner we were so fed up waiting for service. The female staff member at the till had zero hospitality skills either. It was another male member of staff who asked was everything OK for us and I told him it was not and explained why. I got a very disengenious 'aw sorry bout that ' from her. I would not recommend this place to anybody. Extremely disappointing.

My wife and I visited this restaurant today for Sunday lunch. We had never been there before even though it's local to where we live. The building looked ok but it could do with a facelift. There were no starters available, which disappointed us. The main meal was quite good. For dessert we both ordered bread and butter pudding. This was supposed to be hot with custard and ice cream. It was in fact quite cold and hard, so we sent it back. We then had apple crumble with custard. This was a mixed up slop and the custard was like water. I am giving this place 2 stars because of the quality of the main meal but the rest was a disaster. We made our views known to the staff before we left.

Lovely restaurant overlooking Golf Course and Forest. Great choice of dishes on menu to suit individuals or hungry golfers. Service very good in this family-run restaurant. Fabulous views in dining-room of golf course with beautiful trees all around. Great spot for golfers as there is self-catering accommodation available on site. Would be a fabulous venue for small weddings as there are marquee facilities available on site.

Have been here few times before and was always very happy. but this time the food was very disappointing it wasn't the same at all and i usually always get the same and tasted different not as nice as before

Very professional run restaurant with a very good menu and wine list. Top quality food at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent and the restaurant was spotlessly clean with beautiful views across the golf course
