Black Coffee Pizza and Cafe - Mulegé

Espresso is good, Chai Tea is good, Late is average, the frappes are not what you expect from a coffee place, more like an artificial frappe flavor...

This is a cute little place we got coffee each morning. It had a short menu so we were excited to order a pizza after a completely tasteless and flat meal at Don Gus the night before. It took an hour and 14mins to get er done and we found out how to say hotdogs in spanish (topping on pizza) which was just-OK pizza, but we could not tap the bottle of wine we'd brought (they don't serve wine or beer) so we took it to go. Wasn't good enough to finish, with Don Gus change to restaurant resulting in less good foodexperience/higher gringo pricing, the only place to eat in town really is the Malarrimo - still great ambiance, service, tasty food and you are getting what you pay for instead of feeling gouged.

We stopped for coffees and something light for lunch. They had vegetarian pizza on the menu, so we ordered that. There was no-one else eating there so we assumed that our food order would come quickly (we had a visit to the salt works organised at a specific time). Coffee came reasonably quickly but we waited and waited for the pizza. Finally, after 25 minutes, our food arrived. It was hot and fresh, tasted great, but I wish we'd known how long it would take. If you're on a tight schedule, you might want to bear this in mind (and no coffee refills offered here either).

If you gn into GN you will find Black Coffee Cafe. Need a great cup of coffee? You will love this place (especially if you have been drinking instant coffee!) Their fresh ground coffee makes a cup that will have you coming back every morning! I haven't eaten there, but their pastries and deserts look pretty tasty too!

I stopped in Guerrero Negro on a drive down to Loreto. We stayed at the Terra Sal Hotel. Drove around the town and walked out on the sand bar of the bird preserve (nice picnic area, palapas and views). It was a welcome sight to see a coffee place and then when we went in and saw the menu we decided to stay for dinner. We had salad and pizza and internet access. The food and atmosphere was great! Don't miss this stop on your way along the peninsula.
