Shane`s Restaurant - München

Lovely food, service and wine. All the dishes had a great combination off different flavors and was excellent cooed. Our favorite was the first starter, a fish dish with pumpkin and vegetables, which was served with a beautiful Riesling from 98. The second dish was a nice smoked lentil dish with a scallop, interesting combination. The weakest dish on the menu was the chicken dumpling, however note that this dish was not bad just not worth the price and weak in comparison with the other dishes. The service was excellent and we are sorry that as this was our first eating out experience in Germany did not realize that you had to ask the waiter to add the tip to the bill BEFORE they get your card. Next time we´ll be prepared!

I 'm staying at the Princess Elizabeth hotel which is connected to Shane 's Restaurant and I have to say that although I 'm here to eat German/Bavarian food, I really have enjoyed every meal at Shane 's. Now I should also point out that since I 'm traveling on my own I 'm eating at the B Bar (which offers visitors a limited menu that comes from Shane 's). So no 3/4 course meal. But the Venison Ravioli is really quite good, along with the potato bread. I also had a rib-eye steak one night and the wine-reduction was really amazing. Finally, the chocolate crème brûlée with mandarin compote and vanilla bean ice cream is amazing. The brûlée is topped with something similar to the candy 'pop rocks ' and pops in your mouth. Fun. Props to my bartender/server Bill (from NY). I 'll write a separate review for the great drinks I had at the B Bar.

This place is a lot different compared to my first time here in 2011! The main reason why I've yet to return was because of the atrocious service my initial visit. I thought the food overshadowed the service so I didn't mind too much, but my parents refused. However, after 4 years I wanted to go back and see if the food (and service has gotten better. Now, the presence of Asian fusion is noticeable in each dish. Unlike the first visit where it was just modern. So that was an interesting change! Each course was tasty. However, my favorite was the angler fish with 2 types of radish salad, green asparagus, sushi ginger. I was a bit disappointed that they would do 2 types of white dish back to back...I would have preferred another protein (or none at all to contrast. 3 courses was more than enough for me. My dad opted for 4 courses and he had a veal ravioli with truffle. He said it was quite good, but not sure if it was worth the extra money for the course of such a small portion. A notable improvement though was the service! It was on point! Very attentive and friendly, so thumbs up for that!! I recommend trying Shane's at least once if you can! It's definitely an interesting culinary experience

We had a table of 7 adults for the menu with matching wines. Quality of the food was superb, service was attentive and friendly. The sommelier is very efficient, very well informed, very friendly. This place is really worth the trip.
