Small, nostalgic traditional café on the edge of the Viktualienmarkt! Authentic Bavarian the pastry offering with the traditional Schmalznudel as a hanger. The preparation can be seen in the entrance area. The result: the first one I ever tasted and I would order again at any time! But we even had a 2. Once the luck to catch a table: out on the road this time to 1 pipe noodle with plum filling also very tasty and on a proposal of the extremely friendly service, which recognized us, covered for both of us (the day was very hot and the pipe noodle very saturating)! On the 1st floor, to the back of the building is the smaller interior table and chairs in dark wood tones and simply, but not uncomfortable. A 4 5 small balcony table with a view of the backyard garden below, which is also managed: both a quiet idyll in the center of a million city... What you have to envy the Munich!
The Schmalznudel is called the Café Frischhut by the locals, a Munich institution directly on the Viktualienmarkt. In particular, it was a secret tip for the nightschwarmers, as it had on Saturday already at 5 a.m. and it was possible to strengthen itself with coffee and Schmalznudel for the way home. But these times are over the Schmalznudel is no longer a secret tip, and at 5 a.m. nothing is still open here. The lard noodles (also called extrudates) are freshly made here at the running band and find a tearing heel. The snake for sale on the hand is often long but you never have to wait here because the bakers and sellers are flotted. To eat on the hand, the Schmalznudel currently costs 2 €. It costs €2.50 at the café, which I usually do. If you're only in the entrance area for the pick-up sale, you don't even know how large the place is, however, over several angled floors, the seats extend and there are also besides the seats in front of the restaurant which are still in the courtyard. The ambience is Bavarian rustic and so is the charm of the operators. : Also the pipe noodles (with plums or raisins are the hammer still fresh and still warm they come out of the puree. Those who visit Munich should not miss the Schmalznudel.
