Noppakao - München

I put "fast food" in quotes, as it is fast, but that doesn't mean that it's frozen or not fresh. Noppakao is a Thai imbiss, or snack bar, with 4 or 5 stools set up at a bar, behind which one woman cooks, another does prep work like slicing superfresh chicken breast, and a third, the owner, collects the cash and serves the dishes. All the staff is Thai. There are a couple of tiny tables with stools as well. We had some ordinary spring rolls and super-spicy panang curry tofu and veggies, plus a Singha, for a grand total of about 11 euros. The vast majority of customers come here for take-away. You can specify the level of spiciness, as the Germans as a whole can't take spicy at any level. But if you specify spicy, you'd better be prepared for it. I asked for one level below "Thai spicy", and it was pretty darn spicy. They have an English menu, which is nice.

My friends and I were hungry for Thai food, and we stumbled upon this small food bar. There were only a few small tables, and barely enough room to put our plates on the table, but the food was absolutely fantastic, and the people working there were very friendly. It felt very authentic.

Easy to oversee, tiny place with friendly staff and always busy with their friends. Food is as close as you will get to Thai street food in Germany and at a reasonable price too.
