We were in the Hickory yesterday. First we stood around three minutes until someone saw and turned our reserved table. No flexibility in requests for change (which cost a supplement) and quite unfriendly. That's not a tip. However, it would be unfair to judge this service (for which the boss later apologized). Otherwise it would have been a point. The food was brilliant. Have eaten many Ribs. That's the show. Whether normal, with Wasabi or Korean brilliant. And the Cole Slav was great too. That's why I'd love it.
How long do I look for the best savings banks in Munich? They're supposed to be great at Hickory, so we've been there about a year ago. Very good they were, really well seasoned and almost fell from the bone. I ate her for the first time without BBQ sauce because she didn't taste me. I found the portion a little small and as a supplement only salad, otherwise you would have to order extra. Unfortunately, a confessed man is not fed without an appetizer. In my opinion, the money still fits. 13,90 € Service changes, some are really great, some are not of the theme. It would be helpful if the operation is open, I'm still new, there, please excuse them if there are small problems. Because if nothing is said, the guest assumes that the service is always the same. I've been here for six weeks. As I said, the service changes, but the food is always great. The cook comes to the guest and asks if everything fits. Great! Since there is always something going on and she cooks alone, it can also come to small waiting times. But I'm not here in a fast food restaurant, so that's right for me. It would only be perfect in such cases if the service was simply short. Before you starve, you can simply put some bread / baguette on the table to bribe. I've already tested some appetizers. My favorite is the Chicken Wings! But also the chili is very good and the carrot soup My wife swears the Korean Pork Ribs that have a slight sharpness. They are served with coriander, which I don't like at all. You can also order without. Always happy!
Okay, I wouldn't have expected such a rustic place from outside. A mix of pub and living room fits very well to the map. And when you enter the restaurant, you immediately have the typical smoke smell in the nose that reminds me of a BBQ restaurant in America. The boss is in the kitchen! But if there is less, they will come and serve personally and ask later whether it tastes etc. Here you get a lot of questions answered and certain things explained. For example, the question why the BBQ sauce tastes so much different here than you otherwise know because it is not particularly smokey. So I completely dispensed with the sauce during the first visit, because the Hockory Ribs also taste completely ingenious without sauce. In the meantime, however, small changes were made to the sauce and the second time I found it much better. The boss told us that the sauce does not taste so smokey so that it does not overtone its own taste of the rib. Makes sense. Of course, it would still be nice if you had several sauces for choice, because eventually you could satisfy so much more taste of a little. (The sauce that exists so far, a smokey and a sharp one. For me personally, but not necessary, because in the meantime I find the improved sauce great. What we have already tried: the carrots sweet potato soup. For 3,90€ a decent portion and tasteful ok. I would have done that. The chicken wings with my husband were also great. Not very crispy, but super taste and delicate meat. Besides, I've already tried the Pulled Pork Sandwich. I was hoping I had a sandwich like in America. The meat was very good. What is not so optimal here: The back Baguette Semmel! A sandwich should be made either with toast slices or with a Brioche Semmel, maximum with a normal Burger Semmel. But that should also have been improved in the meantime, and then I will try one of my next visits. The Cole Slav is crisp and good. The coronation was the Hickory Spareribs. The best I have eaten in Munich. Here not the big (very much cheaper Ribs are offered, but the high-quality baby straps. And that's exactly what you just notice! Also super good were the Korean Pork Ribs. I really didn't find the sauce (happy, but beautifully spicy. As a coriander fan I would order them with a lot of coriander! All foods and beverages I found well from the value of money. At the first moment it is believed that the Korean Pork Ribs (appearants, 8,90€/main dish 13,90€ and the Hickory Spareribs (13,90€) are too expensive or the part too small. But if you look at the quality of the rib, it will fit again. However, €1.60 for two small baguette slices with garlic butter are definitely too expensive and I would not order it again. By the way, if you want to go to Sparerib's food, you should call before a spontaneous visit whether there are any or if you reserve a table in the long term that you preorder the Ribs. Because in a spontaneous attempt to eat ribs there, they were unfortunately already out. Of course, the Smoker only allows a certain quota and you can't make a quick one. Here I like to turn 5 stars.
