Hagel 1891 - Mt Sterling

Our server, John, also acted as the host and made sure our tea was always topped up. With just three staff members - including a bartender, hostess, and John - they demonstrated great teamwork! The food was incredible, with standout dishes being the shrimp and grits, shrimp stir fry, and Brussels sprouts. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

The restaurant felt slightly upscale but was still comfortable. Our waiter provided excellent service. The cheese curds were amazing. Although I felt the Ribeye steak could have used more seasoning, I would still consider returning to this restaurant.

I recently had lunch at Hagels and found the atmosphere to be very nice. One person at our table had a great meal, but another ordered a well-done cheeseburger that was raw in the middle. It was replaced, but by that point, we were ready to leave. I ordered a Cobb salad with avocado, only to be told after it was served that they had not had avocados since Covid. I found it odd, as avocados are readily available in grocery stores. If I had known ahead of time, I wouldn't have ordered the salad. Overall, it was an expensive and disappointing experience.

Food is extremely over priced. I would of been happy paying the approximately. 15$ dollars for a cheeseburger if it tasted good but unfortunately, it was bland and lacked seasoning. Presentation wise it looked appealing. Would not recommend and will not beback. The staff on a side note was very friendly and attentive.

Nice place! Great food, too! Lunch offers large portions. Hostess seats you. It is better to make reservations if possible. This building was actually built in 1897, but it has been very well maintained and built by Dot Foods. Supper offers just aboutanything from steaks to sea food, etc. It can be expensive depending on what you order, but you get high quality food! I highlyrecommend to individuals or families that enjoy fine dining! Restaurant is located on Main Street downtown. I forgot to mentionthat Hagels 1891 has good afternoon and evening hours.
