Mister Jim's On The Border - Moyock

Although advertised on big billboards along the highway, the location stops serving espresso for no obvious reason at 11am. A seriously questionable business decision given that they are located at a gas station where people stop for coffee at any time.

Used to be our go to stop on the way to OBX. BBQ was on point, and all in all a good place. Food isn't made to order any more. We bought a pound of BBQ to go yesterday and it was awful. Just fat and gristle. Asked for a breakfast sandwich but all they had is what was premade in the hot box. We left and went up the road to WaWa. I'd much rather give money to the local guy but it's fallen so far we just can't anymore. Hopefully someone buys it up and gets it back to the old days.

I honestly do not know how anybody can give this restaurant 5 stars unless they're employed there. We were so excited to have Mr. Jim's come to our area of the woods. We have been so disappointed every time we've tried it, it tastes nothing like the original and the quality of the food is horrible. To me if you open a franchise you should have to have the exact same food quality as the original.

I'm just done with the moyock location...worth the ride to great bridge.

It didn't take a long time for our food to come out, and they had some decent customer service. But the food wasn't notable by any means. The fries were undercooked and had no flavor whatsoever, and the BBQ sandwich we ordered, while it was recognizably BBQ, it was mediocre and underwhelming.
