Tacomania - Mountain View

I've only had the lamb barbacoa (available Sat Sun) tacos and carnitas nachos, but that's only because they're so delicious I can't get myself to try any other menu items. Great food, great service. There is a tiny lot, but you can park on the street and walk-in it's worth it.

I ordered two brisket tacos and two cheek tacos, and they were packed with meat. The brisket was my favorite because the cheek had a slightly gamey taste. The salsa bar wasn’t labeled, but I assumed the options were mild, medium, and hot. Overall, the food was delicious and offered great value.

I'm accustomed to Tacomania in San Jose, but I tried this location today and I must say, it has become my new favorite! Their salsas are flavorful and don't taste watered down at all. Plus, on Wednesdays, they offer $1 Al Pastor tacos, which is a fantastic deal! I really enjoyed the flavors, especially since I'm a huge fan of al pastor. The chips on the side were a nice touch too!

They offer lamb tacos exclusively on weekends. I'm not particularly fond of lamb, but my friends who are love them. You can also order lamb by the pound or half pound on weekends. The chips are delicious, but they do charge for them. The menu is straightforward, lacking guacamole; instead, you can add avocado to your order. The salsa bar is simple yet effective, and I found their take on orange sauce to be quite tasty—better than La Victoria's, though I haven't tried Iguanas' updated version (there are quite a few strong orange sauce contenders in the area). They may be a bit pricier than the typical street tacos you find at smaller places, but the atmosphere is wonderful. They also have daily specials, keep the place spotless, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. I particularly enjoyed the horchata; I'm not a fan of overly sweet versions, and this one was just right. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy some tacos!
