Finlandia Cafe And - Mount Shasta

First off, the place was completely empty, which should have raised some red flags, and the staff seemed disinterested. Even though we ordered "for here," the indifferent server handed us paper cups—perhaps the worst insult to any espresso lover. The shot itself was lacking in quality: it was over-extracted, poorly ground, and tasted sour. I've had better from a Nespresso machine. It's obvious that at one point, someone with skill and passion set up this charming coffee shop, but it has since lost its way. Just having a La Marzocco machine does not guarantee good coffee or skilled baristas.

We had coffee and a light breakfast at Finlandia Cafe, and both were delicious. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable and dog-friendly, making it a great spot for us to work while visiting Mount Shasta. I would definitely recommend it!

Their lemon blueberry muffin was to die for and though understaffed for the season the host and barista was the nicest ever!
