Our waitress (I can't remember her name, I apologize!) was very friendly and explained the menu multiple times as more people joined our table. I decided to order the beef tartare, fried shrimp, pommes frites, and a glass of muscadet. The kitchen prepared everything perfectly and the dishes were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the fried shrimp, but the beef tartare and fries were the highlights for me, especially with the delicious camembert on the side. I had no doubts that NICO would live up to the reputation of its sister restaurant, and it definitely did!
We had out-of-town guests and Nicos lived up to our expectations. The oysters were incredibly tasty, and the whole fish was cooked perfectly. Our server was honest about our options and her descriptions were spot-on. We were able to find parking close to the entrance and were seated right on time for our reservation. The staff was excellent and provided great service. We highly recommend dining at Nicos.
I absolutely loved the oyster and Baked Alaskan experience at this restaurant. My mom and I visited on a Monday, so we were able to take advantage of the oyster special. The oyster platter that was brought out was exceptional, and it truly felt like a unique dining experience. For dinner, I ordered the burger, which was tasty. However, the highlight of the meal was definitely the Baked Alaskan dessert. I loved the presentation of it being set aflame tableside, and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking out this spot! Just be aware that parking can be tricky, and in some spots, a $50 fee is required. However, the restaurant will validate your parking.
NICO has quickly become my go-to restaurant in Charleston. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. We arrived later in the evening to find the restaurant bustling but not overly crowded. Our group started with a dozen oysters that were incredibly fresh. For my main course, I opted for the sea scallops, which were hands down the best I have ever had. We ended our meal with the delightful baked alaska and creamy creme brulee. The baked alaska was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend NICO to anyone visiting Charleston.
