Food was good, service was ok until the guy got nasty about me giving a tip, yea I forgot but since u want to be an a and get nasty where ur tip?... How bout no?!... They served faucet water and tea...(don 't even know if they have soda)... And they make their own tax up ... If my item is 6.95 and 7.95 how is my tax 1.15 x 2 items... So I 'm paying 2.30 on tax they want to charge on 14.90 ?.... I think that 's illegal charging whatever tax they want!!!

Ordered lunch with a couple of my co-workers. We each ordered a combination plate of general tso chicken. I am repulsed because I found a large bug in the middle of my rice. Needless to say, I will never order from there again.

. Genweal loo y the best in Budd Lake. Very disappointed this weekend. The fried rice was old and crusty.

The Golden bowl has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for ~30 years. The food is excellent. I often ask for crispy Chicken with Black Bean sauce, which isn't always on the menu but they make it with no problem. The biggest problem is the decor, which also hasn't changed in 30 ~years. The 2 new TVs don't add to the ambiance, either. Overall, the food is better eat-in than take out, despite the decor. The food tastes better (takeout will ruin the crispy crust of many of the fried dishes), and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
