Nexus Coffee Brewers - Mount Lawley

Way back when I first discovered these guys, I described it to my friends as the Harry Potter coffee shop, because it's literally the café under the stairs.  Actually it's the café under the IGA escalator to be precise.  Technically they're Shop 10, but I'll always think of them as Shop 9 3/4 because their single origin coffee brews are pure magic. Louis and the Nexus Brew Crew are the nicest, most informative coffee cult members you could ever hope to meet.  It seems that every time I stop by for a fix there's some fresh sourced single origin coffee from - if you've met Louis you know the drill. He gets really excited about his coffee roasting sources, and then what pressure they use on the coffee machine to (jargon) and then the tasting notes with a finish of (jargon).  He's taught me so much about coffee and what to really appreciate but I'm get to come to grips with the finer points of all the jargon.  Generally I smile and nod and then just say "gimme!" and inevitably I love it.  When Louis discovered I worked on a remote site with Nespresso, he promptly loaded me up with fresh coffee and his own mini-presso to give it a try.  One swing on site later and I've now got my own mini-presso, a proper airtight carbon filter coffee jar, and Nexus coffee always on standby.  God help the people on site if I ever run out and they experience my true personality.  Nexus isn't not just good coffee, it's a public service. The day I'm fully up to speed with all the tasting notes and process, will be the day that the cult welcomes their latest fully indoctrinated member.  There are whispers that the cult will soon be doing t-shirts too - can't wait!

A really wonderful coffee shop with a lbeautiful cold brew, batch brew, and espresso all made with the balanced Nexus Blend. If black coffee is your thing then the single origins at Nexus are sure to impress- they've been carefully dialed-in to assure the most wonderful of flavours.

I really, really adore this place!! The coffee is perfect, although I have never been for food. The owner is extremely lovely and dedicated and honestly one of the reasons why I keep going back. Super friendly staff good job guys.

Stumbled upon this gem by pure chance and enjoyed not one but TWO fantastic cappuccinos. Coffee super smooth with a bold enough taste to not make it boring and best of all, the owner Lewis came out to have a brilliant chat to me about coffee, how he got into it, the selection process he goes through and really just a thoroughly enjoyable conversation and experience. Luis gave me a taste of their cold brew and I'm so sold. I'll be definitely going back there. So in summary, a fantastic coffee spot serving top top notch coffee with incredible folks running the place!
