Coode St Cafe - Mount Lawley

I remember my first trip to Coode St Cafe three years agoIt all started terribly wrong as I navigated to the wrong Coode St.

I was pleasantly surprised by Coode Street CaféIt is in a quiet little areaThere were heaps of tables and they are pet friendly.

Nice cafe hidden away in the suburb of Mount Lawley. Very busy and great atmosphere. Great place to take you family on the weekend. Lots of choice from the cakes/slices point of view and coffee is very nice.

Although my wife and I live south of the river and seldom travel north for a meal, we saw a tempting Scoupon offer and, having a medical appointment nearby, we made a booking. We were pleasantly surprised to find the location was in a quiet residential area, away from the hustle and bustle of the Beaufort Street strip. My wife ordered a Club Sandwich and I had the Ploughman's Lunch/Tapas. The Club Sandwich ($16.30) was well constructed. Plenty of chicken and bacon, quality bread and moist egg. It was a little on the dry side and would have benefited from additional mayo.  My Ploughman's Lunch ($18.40) was no ordinary ploughman's. The regulation cheese, pickled onions, pork pie and pickles were accompanied by nicely grilled chorizo slices, marinated artichoke, sun-dried tomato, olives, boiled egg and wedges of avocado. The rye bread was very good quality and the meal thoroughly satisfying. The menu indicated the dish would be a good entree for two. I'd go further and say it would make a fine lunch for two light eaters. We enjoyed our meal and the coffees that we had with the meal. The service was friendly and efficient even though it was apparent there was a little on the job training taking place for a couple of newer staff members. A steady stream of customers around midday on a Tuesday indicated the popularity of this venue with "tradies", retired couples and groups of ladies all happily enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and the food and coffee.
