Contribuiți la feedbackI am at a loss for words. The manager was friendly, but that’s where the positives end. After waiting two hours for our food, I was assured four times that it was on its way. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, overpriced, bland, and overcooked. I ultimately decided to leave and was still handed a bill for over $200. It's truly disappointing to see a business fail so spectacularly. I've never written a worse review in my life. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place at all costs. Having reviewed hundreds of restaurants, I can confidently say I've never been this disappointed.
We started with two orders of the pan bread, which I would describe as a low-quality imitation of what you’d find at Jack Astor's. It arrived lukewarm, and the cheese was melted only in the center—not oven-melted, but more like it had just been microwaved. We didn’t order any cocktails because none caught our interest. If we hadn’t visited some wineries beforehand, we probably wouldn’t have ordered a bottle of wine and would have just stuck to water. Fortunately, we knew which bottle to choose. For dinner, I had the chicken parmesan, my husband ordered the Caesar salad risotto balls, our girlfriend had the seafood pasta, and her husband went with the spaghetti. Regarding the chicken parmesan, I was pleasantly surprised, especially since my expectations were so low. However, the pasta in the Pomodoro sauce was bland, and the vegetables were just okay. The Caesar salad was drenched in store-bought dressing over plain romaine lettuce—again, bland. The risotto balls were tasteless. The seafood pasta? Also bland. As for the spaghetti, I was taken aback to find it came with dry meatballs—not a highlight. Overall, the spaghetti was bland as well. After all of this, I can confidently say we were misled: nothing is made fresh here. To add to our disappointment, we asked for chili peppers and were told they didn't have any. Moments later, another table requested them, and they received them without issue. I cannot recommend this restaurant for either the food or the service, even if you’re starving. If it were possible, I would give it zero stars.
When we arrived, my first impression was that we were one of only two tables seated in the dining area. We opted for the outdoor seating, and they provided a proper high chair for our daughter, which earned them some points. However, the menu we were given was quite limited compared to what we had seen online, with very few main course options available. This wasn't a huge issue, but the wine list was decent, and we ordered a bottle of Chianti after checking if we could cork it to take home if we didn’t finish it. We started with a few appetizers and a children’s pasta dish, which came out in a reasonable time. However, our appetizers took quite a while. The Caesar salad was just average, and the garlic cheese bread was cold and tasted a bit stale. Nobody came to check on us until long after we finished our starters, and no one offered to refill our wine. We eventually had to go inside to ask if we could place our order for the main courses. We ordered chicken parmigiana and porchetta. The description of the porchetta on the online menu referred to it as a stuffed pork belly, but when I asked the server, she described it as a pork chop. We ended up waiting nearly an hour for our main courses to arrive. Around the 40-minute mark, the manager came out to ask if we had been overlooked, and we mentioned that we were getting pretty hungry, but we still waited nearly another 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the main courses were not good. The chicken parmigiana was a frozen chicken cutlet with some cheese on top. My porchetta was a small piece of dry, overcooked pork belly no larger than a lamb chop, and it was practically inedible. The potatoes served with it were cold and greasy. The green beans were fine, but for $28 a plate, I was disappointed. I've had better meals at East Side Mario's when I was in school for half the price. For a tourism destination like Prince Edward County, which prides itself on locally sourced food, this experience was truly disappointing.
Waited 10 mins to be seated and another 30 mins with just water at our table. Waitresses walked by multiple times and no service so we walked out and got seated at the Drake Devonshire. Don't waste your time at this place.
Sorry, as much as I really wanted this place to be good, it really wasn't. The staff was very friendly but we got a waitress who just started so she didn't exactly know where everything was. We came here with a four year old and a one year old and the place is fairly child friendly. They had high chairs available and ready to go. And they had a kids menu which had a variety of things. We ordered the Beef Short Ribs, Cannelloni,Jalapeño Ravioli Nachos and the Portobello Fries. The Nachos and the Fries were very tasty. Enjoyed it quite a bit and at that point we thought, this is going to be a good meal. However, the Beef Short Ribs were extremely dry and not as tasty as I thought they would be from the description and the Cannelloni was quite bland and nothing to write home about. Being from downtown Toronto, my Italian food standards are a little bit high. This place just fell slightly short for me.
