Contribuiți la feedbackI had absolutely an amazing 2 nights stay in the caber house. it is a hidden gem that is fucked at the right place: away from the main road and yet close to porongurups, albany and die ranges. all the magic discs of the sky. what makes this house highlight, though. sheryl and jeffrey (sorry if I spell it wrong) they are so warm, welcoming and generous. her house. That's so beautiful! I love design and architecture. it sits in a quiet environment with fresh air, beautiful view and as soon as I entered, it just felt so secretly direct. Of course, the fact that sheryl and jeffrey have built it themselves makes it even more incredible and inspiring. look at you photo album! all photos of the slow transformation of the house just put a smile on my face. there are only 2 rooms, so it is very quiet. my room was the most widely with a double bed and I loved everything! spacious, clean, simple and it has heated floors! wow! it is my first time how it feels and it is absolutely so pleasant not to feel the cold floors, esp when they enter the bathroom. there is no need for air conditioning or heating because the house has stable temperature throughout the day, not too cold, not too hot. which in turn saves energy. I'm so insane again! the caffe is no longer ready for use, but they can still order a homemade dinner cooked by sheryl the amazing cook! (with enough announcement and additional fee.) my pasta was so delicious and cooked al dente to perfection. the part was generous and I was filled! and oh, did I mention sheryl's cake? the room price includes continental breakfast, first, a few selection of toasts and afternoon cakes with coffee that they could top if they want. I really had a pleasant time to eat the cake in the balcony with the sunset and the intention. sheryl even offered to give me cake to take home when I checked out what I liked to say yes. they are so delicious. and she is also very kind to give me a late check-out. (btw, the Chinese restaurant in the city also has amazing eating many thanks for everything, sheryl and jeffrey. I would like to come back one day and would not hesitate to recommend their place to others.
We are no longer able to stay with the family when we return to mt barker to visit them and so went on looking for suitable accommodation in a opposite one that we otherwise know well. caber house is ideal for tourist or frequent visitors. it is immaculately clean,...completely comfortable and the host is the epitome of the gracious hospitality. we hope we have the opportunity for a return visit.
This is a b and b that is a cut above the rest in which we have ever stayed. the room was immaculate and well furnished, including the fixed but very comfortable bed to wake up in the morning, to the sound of kookaburra’s. in the far away and go to their own private balcony, where they can have breakfast in their own free time was absolutely beautiful. the host could not do enough to make sure they have a great stay. make you like when they stay in mount barker and treat themselves.
Lovely setting and delicious food. Spent a lovely afternoon sipping coffee and eating cakes. Yummo!!
We were given a gift voucher from our good friends so decided to treat my husbands cousins as they usually treat us. Visited for Saturday lunch. The boys had smoked salmon parcels which they said were filling very tasty. Us girls had the brocolli...cream quiche with a coleslaw salad. That too was filling quite rich. To finish off we all had coffee cake which was very enjoyable. The dining areas were well set out with a nice warm fire burning on which was a coolish day. Views to the Stirling Ranges are incredible. Highly recommend this establishment for visitors passing through to those who live in around Mt Barker WA
