Jen's Place Cafe - Mount Alexander

First (and last) visit to this place. After paying, a voice from out the back commanded I be charged extra for my (free) drink. I complied. As soon as I opened the package containing my souvlaki, I was overcome by the smell. It wasn't even possible to determine 'what' kind of meat it was. Straight into the bin. I have read reviews here which praise the variety of the menu. Don't be fooled, their offerings are miserable. Overall, the place is pretty grubby, including the staff. Lots of 'wiping hands on pants etc'. This business has been for sale for a long time, that it hasn't sold is not surprising. A truly horrible experience.

My friends brought me here, saying this is where they always came. I can see why. The range was wide, from schnitzel, parmas, kebabs, burgers, pasta and sandwiches. I chose a vegie burger and it was very well made and inexpensive. Yes, I will come back again.

We went to Jens Cafe for lunch recently & it was very crowded with not a lot of space. The food was yummy, but I do think the design / set up, could be improved.

Popped in for a coffee which was brilliant as was the hot chocolate small quiet place but the food looked really good

Friendly staff & great service & food. Stopped in for a coffee last Saturday & had to return for brunch Sunday as the menu & staff brought us back!
