Bernie's Diner - MOSS VALE

Went here for dinner whilst on business in the area, on the outside this place looked really cool.

Arrived about 11.30am and got to snag the last booth near the front window - Perfect spot to people watch.

An extremely cute diner in the most random of places The Pastrami sandwiches are the bestyou must get it.

Amazing if you want to feel like you 're in a 50 's diner, this is the place.<br/ The first thing we hear is the well dressed staff at the front welcome us with a big 'hello, someone will be with you shortly '. Within a minute we were ordering our lunch and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.<br/ I received my Bernies burger which tasted amazing clearly a much better beef patty than most gourmet burger places, and the onion rings on the top were a great touch. The thickshake was made from scratch, none of the usual flavoured toppings and was extremely thick.<br/ The owner is clearly very proud of this establishment because it has an amazing decor that looks practically brand new. From start to finish, there was a someone sweeping, cleaning the tables as people left and everything was put in it 's place.<br/ <br/ One thing that really made the experience was the customer service and it is clear that the owner has emphasised this fact to his employees through chivalry and humility while still being jovial and professional.<br/ Cannot fault this place and will definitely be back

The funky diner decor and friendly staff in aprons is what really makes the place, but the Rueben that I had was also good lots of tasty pastrami and a good sauce. The milkshake was fantastic. I suppose I don't know how you screw up a milkshake but there were no corners cut here, frothy but a lot of body and lots of vanilla. The sandwich does seem expensive $16 for the medium size (size might refer to how much meat they put in it) but country cafes are expensive and rarely this good.
