Outstanding food enjoyed this evening at the local produce night! Melt in your mouth beef cheek, intense flavours bouillabaisse .. perfect portion sizes.. attentive professional service, highly recommend this place and will be back for sure! A gem on the south coast ..

I had the three course midweek special for $45 a few days ago. Delicious meal in a fabulous location. Slow cooked lamb shoulder croquette to start, duck confit for the main (tender and the best I've eaten outside France) then chocolate brownie for dessert. The portion size was just right for me with a moderate appetite. Those with hearty appetites may want to order a side or two. This restaurant exceeded my expectation. It's a fine dining restaurant in a small coastal town. Thoroughly recommended

The food was excellent wide variety in choices and all were beautifully presented full of flavours and texture. Highly recommend, only let down was the unimaginative wine list it just did not do the food justice.

Top notch food, great produce, classic yet creative, perfectly seasoned. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the wait staff had great knowledge of the food and wine. Couldn’t fault it.

Have just left The River Restaurant. The scollops were the best I've ever eaten. The mains terrific as was the desert and wines. Thank you for great service and beautiful food.
