The Barra - Mortdale

We ordered broken fish and chips for 2 plus 2 kartoffel cake. we got a wooden spoon with a number. we went to the back of the load, where there are seats. the salads in the display cabinets looked so delicious, but they will go next time. our fish, chips and potato cakes have settled in a reasonable time. the potato cakes and fish sat in a pool of oily, as they had come directly from the frit and were not dehydrated by excess oil. the teig was crispy, the fish tasted like basa, which is very mild and unfortunately was very lost in the taste of teig and fat. the chips were crispy and not oily at all. no selection of different fishing if...read more

I had the grilled salmon with dill and the rocket pear salad, accompanied by chips, and it was excellent, especially for under $17. I would definitely recommend Barra if you're in the area.

I absolutely love this place! The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I frequently come here to enjoy their veggie burger meal, and it has never let me down. They offer a wide variety of delicious salads to complement your meal, or you can enjoy them on their own. The atmosphere is relaxed, and there are plenty of seats available in the back. I highly recommend coming here instead of one of the other fish and chip shops along the road.

The Barra is quickly becoming one of the most popular eateries in Mortdale and for good reason. With an amazing selection of fresh seafood options matched with mouth watering burgers and delicious salads, it's no wonder there's a line of locals every lunchtime. Beef Burger with the LOT. This is exactly what I love about places like this. Real burgers packed full of everything. Juicy beef, lettuce, caramelized onions, beetroot, tomato, cheese, egg, pineapple and special maple bacon. A behemoth in flavour and size. Amen.

Now, I noticed on the menu that they offer a speck and egg roll on brioche bread, so I thought we’d return in the morning in hopes of a better experience and to write a more positive review. However, when we arrived and I looked at the board, I was met with a rude comment, asking if they could help me. I felt quite unwelcome at that moment.
