Don Rafael - Moron

In Morón, a small town in central Cuba that very few tourists visit, we arrived just at noon, lunchtime. So after finding accommodation and dropping off our backpacks, we went in search of a restaurant where we could eat well and cheaply. It didn't take us long to come across Don Rafael, a Creole food restaurant located on Zaya Street not far from the corner of Libertad Street, right next to the city hospital. What stood out to us the most about the place was its menu with a variety of dishes that we hadn't seen before. Pasta, vegetables, meats, pizzas, rice, there was practically everything although the best part was the prices. Super affordable and in local currency, the Cuban peso. We felt like having pasta so out of all the options, we chose the spaghetti, which were very tasty. We ordered a plate of spaghetti with ham (50 cents) and another special one (60 cents) that we accompanied with an avocado salad. For drinks, we had soda at 2 pesos each and at the end of the meal, a tiny cup of Cuban coffee for 1 peso. The interior of the place is very humble with a few tables spread out in different areas (let's call them rooms ;P . There is also a bathroom and the staff, well the girl who served us, was very friendly and attentive. The only downside was that they didn't give us napkins but in these types of very affordable places, they usually don't give them to you (which we already knew . So if you find yourself in Morón and you're hungry, remember the restaurant Don Rafael, an affordable restaurant with very good food.
