East Gate Barbecue - Morgan City

The Monday daily special, the big sloppy poorboy, was really great. My wife's salad with brisket was really good also, and the 2 meat plate looked great as well. I plan to stop by here the next time we are driving thru the area. Everything on the menu sounded great, it was hard to pick.

Husband and I went for lunch today with a group of people and didn't receive our order until 2 hours later and only because I questioned the server as to why we didn't receive our order. Everyone in our party had done finished with their meal and were finishing dessert and we still hadn't received our order. When we were served, my order had a side that I didn't order and the food was lukewarm at best. Maybe they were having an off day, but I don't think we will be back because we were never offered to comp anything or at least get our drinks comped for poor service.

It was supposed to be a pulled pork sandwich, but it was small slices, not pulled, and there was way too much sauce. There was more sauce dripping from there than anything else. The burger was literally swimming in sauce, which was a ridiculously sloppy mess. I think the black chicken should have been steamed and then smoked. In addition to being cooked enough, the charred chicken skin that I expected did not appear. My husband has been insisting that he must eat it when he comes to Morgan City for seven years. When he came with his boss before, I had a good taste in my memory, but I was disappointed. I tried to make it look better in the photos, but the food speaks for itself. Only the pork belly meat is up to par. I am willing to go back. Come here once and order a completely different meal to see if it is as good as the reviews. Boss, please, find reasons, don’t make excuses, you can do better，Boss, to be more precise, there is nothing wrong with the waiter. It is your recipe or the food is not delicious enough. It is the source of the problem. The BBQ-flavored roasted whole chicken I bought in the deli section of the supermarket opposite you is more delicious than yours. , you just smear Tabasco hot sauce on the chicken skin, and the chicken is cooked. We took the endless pulled pork burger home and opened it to see that it was chopped into dices. You can't pull out the pork pieces. Tell me you have a Texas taste. Our waitress was really fun. She had a great attitude and a sense of humor!! Tha Mac and cheese was the best I've had in a while! I'll be back just because it was super affordable, and my waitress made it fun!

Amazing food great service. We drive from 2 hours away to eat here.
