Located in the heart of Morelia's historic district, surrounded by stunning 17th and 18th century buildings, this restaurant offers delicious seitan burgers served with fries and a drink (try the tamarind-ade, it's super delicious). The establishment is impeccably clean, with friendly but occasionally slow service - understandable once you realize that everything is cooked from scratch for top-notch quality. The dessert, a heavenly carrot cake with strawberries, is a house specialty unlike anything you've ever tasted. The menu includes a variety of drinks, Japanese Calpis, tacos, pizzas, hummus, falafel, and summer specials like fresh salads and mocktails. While Morelia boasts plenty of upscale restaurants, vegan options are scarce beyond basic guacamole. La Cochera Vegana is a safe haven for vegans, with a diverse clientele including locals, tourists, musicians, a German couple, and students. A small vegan shop is attached to the restaurant, providing even more plant-based options.

I went to this restaurant for a late lunch and I highly recommend it. The food is delicious with good flavor. We sampled a variety of tacos and Mexican-style dishes. Whenever I travel, I like to try the vegan options of the local cuisine, and this restaurant did not disappoint. I would recommend trying it out in general.

We went there after a long day of traveling. We ordered pizza, pasta with Mushrooms and tacos. Pizza was okay the pasta was not okay. The sauce was sweet(! . On the menu it said it is with soy cream, but it was with sweet coconut milk, which completely destroyed the meal. I ate it, but it was really bad. My boyfriend ate the tacos, he liked the taste. But the waiter brought the sauce, onion and cilantro when he had already finished eating… the next morning he threw up and felt absolutely terrible. Updated from previous review on 2022-12-03

(Visited July 2022) Better than the first time in February 2021, seems like they are improving! I love their fair prices, calm ambient and friendly attention. Also that they have so many good products to sell, its not only a restaurant but a place really veg-friendly. I cant wait to go again. My only wish is if they had more options of healthy food, almost every dish is too salty or fatty. Updated from previous review on 2022-09-09
