The croquettes were dry and the serving was small, considering they were not cheap. My friends said the bruschetta was also not very enjoyable as the bread tasted stale and was only barely toasted. The main courses were shocking. The two serves of lamb loin were a couple of fatty lamb chops on a pile of chopped tomato. They were immediately returned. The seafood linguine was inedible. The pasta was overcooked and literally flavourless - no salt, no garlic, just a hint of acid. It was the worst pasta I have ever tasted. My dining companions agreed it was terrible. The final meal to come out was the salmon and it was served with broccolini that was clearly past being fresh. The heads were yellow/brown and it was limp. The salmon was okay. We attempted to discuss the quality of the meals (all over $30 each), but the chef was unwilling to concede that there was anything unacceptable about them. He eventually agreed to discuss the lamb loin with the meat supplier, and after calling his manager said he wouldn't charge for the two untouched meals, but would only give a $5 discount for each of the two meals that had a couple of bites taken. In spite of our efforts to reach a reasonable compromise, we ended up leaving hungry and having paid for what we thought reasonable (only what we consumed). We all eat out regularly and have never had such an unpleasant experience. Very disappointing.
Booked a table for six when we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant we waited 20 minutes before we asked if we could order a drink ordered a jug of sangria for $39 when it arrived I was gobsmacked by how small the jug was it didn't even fill 2 glasses, waited another 20 minutes before having to ask again about ordering our meal, the tapas meals were all $15 or above, we were told we would have to order three of the chicken croquettes to have one each at $45 for one small meal we decided we had had enough and left the restaurant never to return
Went to Omni as advertised as Spanish Italian so we ordered a paella to share. At $72 we thought it would be pretty good but were disappointed. Two prawns each...one scallop....one piece of fish....many pipis and calamari. Chorizo was almost burnt. Paella did not have any other meat or crustiness about the rice. Flavor was okay but not good enough for cost. Service was fairly good but we were only customers.
Well this was such a disappointing experience it's hard to know where to start as we have eaten at this establishment a few times over the many years it has been going in the area. On arrival at 7pm there were only 3 other people seated & they left soon after (no big deal, holiday season, 35 degrees & probably not a lot would know it was open?)...We began by ordering pre dinner drinks..I decided on the Strawberry Delight cocktail (sparkling wine & strawberry liqueur) & my hubby a light beer. The cocktail was "flat" which they promptly took back & replaced by opening a new bottle of champagne rather than using the "flat" one that had a stopper in it (could see from where I sat via the mirrors) ...We decided to share 5 of the tapas, anchovy bruschetta, spring rolls, scallops, barramundi & lamb cutlets....yep! we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant but 3 tapas arrived at once, even our wine that we ordered hadn't been poured either & THEN the last 2 tapas arrived so they were all cold by the time we got to eat them! The bruschetta tasted ok along with the spring rolls & scallops but the lamb cutlets were "fatty, certainly not frenched" & the barramundi overcooked?....how could that be when we were the only ones there...why didn't the chef take his time serving us?...So...hubby decided to try the churros for dessert...I asked were they served with ice cream which we were told no but they would serve with ice cream for a small extra charge ....well they were far from tasty & yep they charged us $5 extra for the ice cream! Omg! This experience could not get any worse & WE WERE STILL the only ones in the restaurant!...we have eaten at many restaurants locally & worldwide & think we know when to be lenient & fair...but tonight was a joke...so sad as the area needs good local upmarket restaurants, God only knows what happens when the restaurant is full to capacity!...and the service, although pleasant ladies, really knew what they were delivering was below average... would probably never recommend or go back...
Very expensive for what you get. Food was overpriced, dry and poor. The pasta dishes are entrée size for an expensive main meal price. We were there on a Saturday night and there were eight people in the restaurant. Very indicative of what this restaurant offers. Unfortunately we will never go there again. After reading all the negative comments I am surprised they are still in business. Much better places to go in Keilor Road. There are tons of restaurants. Omni you best realise that people have many food choices in this area including Italian. You need to lower your prices and offer better quality food. BYO would also be a suggestion.
