Musashi's - Morehead City

The staff at this restaurant were fantastic, but unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. My husband ordered yakisoba, but instead of stir-fried noodles, he received spaghetti noodles, which had no seasoning at all. I ordered chicken teriyaki, which was served with a salad broth and fried rice. The fried rice lacked any flavor; it was barely touched by soy sauce and left bland. I've never been so let down by a hibachi restaurant. Having grown up in Japan, I can be a bit critical, but the fact that none of us could finish our meals and had to drown everything in garlic sauce just to make it edible is truly disheartening. The food was chewy and tasteless, with the only highlight being the salad, which was generously drizzled with ginger dressing. I don't know if they were having an off night, but I won’t be returning. I truly hope they rethink their menu and provide their cooks with proper training in flavoring. If I could rate it lower than one star, I would, but I do want to commend the staff for being so lovely.

I arrived at 5:30 and was seated fairly quickly. The waitress was eager for us to order, but she was friendly and gave us enough time to review the menu when she noticed my frustration. When the food arrived, the portions were generous, but the quality was disappointing. More than half of the hibachi steak was fat and inedible, and the rice was mostly bland and unseasoned, still looking quite white. The vegetables, however, were quite good. The chicken in the yakisoba had an unusual taste and texture, but the noodles were flavorful. During checkout, the process felt rushed, with no eye contact and no inquiry about our experience. If you decide to visit this restaurant, I recommend ordering the filet hibachi for just a dollar more, and the vegetable yakisoba noodles to avoid any questionable meat.

I wish someone had told me about this restaurant earlier. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and there was no wait because we had made a reservation in advance. It was quite busy and seemed especially popular with families. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

We came here with family. My dad ordered sushi which had very little variety and the fish was not well cut, it wasn't fresh either. My mom got chicken teriyaki, the chicken was premade, probably recooked and it was cut into small cubes. Mine was filet and scallop. They ask how cooked I wanted it but when it arrive to the table the meat was precut into pieces and the meat wasn't cooked the way I asked. The only good one was the seafood tempura that came with the seafood udon. Also they were sweeping the floor near us during the time we were eating. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want an authentic Japanese food.
