Contribuiți la feedbackI love it when we try a restaurant for the first time and it exceeds my expectations. It’s rare, but that happened tonight and it was so GREAT! A stylist at Great Clips told me to try Jay’s Smokin’ Barbeque in Fargo, so we went there for supper. (Note: Here on the edge of wind-swept prairie, we call the evening meal “supper.” The Fargo location is not fancy and they were understaffed, owing to a family medical emergency that had them closed most of the week according to a sign on the front door. There were two servers and both were scrambling, but we waited only a few minutes to be seated. Our friendly server confirmed that the ribs were on the smoker, and I ordered the Lean Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Baked Beans and Mac Cheese. Deb ordered the Brisket French Dip sandwich. My brisket and ribs were terrific – best I’ve had since we were in Charleston, SC over 30 years ago and discovered Bone Suckin’ Sauce! My brisket was hot, tender and juicy, with a wonderful bark. And the ribs were perfect – great bite and chew, with just the right tug off the bone, moist and meaty and…gosh they were SO good. The baked beans were also delicious, and the mac cheese was creamy and fresh (not from any microwave . Deb loved the soft, warm hoagie roll wrapped around her fresh-sliced brisket and provolone, and the au jus dip was hot and full of flavor. Deb also had the cole slaw; simple, fresh and tasty. Add a glass of water and an ice tea, and our check came to just over $35. We will definitely be regulars and hurry back whenever our mouths are watering for barbeque. You’ve really got to try it!

This location isn't as good as the other for a few reasons. Portions were smaller, ribs ONLY on Friday, lack of a server, and inattentive cashier. Asked for my bin, didn't get it, asked for sweet potato fries and didn't get it, asked for ketchup and didn't get it, asked for water and realized once I got to the table she didn't say anything about it to find out there's cups by the pop machine. Other location is a solid 5 stars, this one needs work..
Great food, customer service need help, was their at noon and girl at the counter must not like her job no smile looks away and very unhappy,
Went to check out new Moorhead location. Very awkward and confusing. No signs indicating where to go or sit or anything that even mentions Jay 's bbq nobody greets you, no menus. It 's literally just a bar. We stood around awkwardly for about 5min and then just left.
