Samanee Thai - Moonee Ponds

We were able to make a last-minute reservation at this restaurant and it turned out to be one of the best Thai restaurants we have ever been to! The food was incredibly delicious and freshly prepared.

Slow service. But food worth waiting for. A bit overpriced. Very noisy. Sand bags as draft stopper at rear door to access toilets. Parking atrocious.

Quite authentic Thai food and Tom yum was especially tasty. Other dishes were all in good serving! Fully recommended.

Great local Thai restaurant, food is tasty and well cooked, servings are plentiful and service is with a big smile. BYO wine also helps to keep the bill total down when dining with a large group. Like most places, noise isn't well absorbed, so it can get quite noisey. Perhaps not the right venue for a romantic tet a tet.

We travel to thailand every year and love the authentic food there we have been to many places here in Melbourne which are ok some good but nothing ever seems to compare with the food we have in Thailand until last night samanee is the best thai food weve had out of thailand. Very fresh very authentic the red duck curry was amazing simple not overly powered with lemongrass or chilli etc excatly like the curries in thailand clean fresh simple flavours. We also had pad thai best weve had also... all the 8 dishes we had were outstanding. Service was excellent place has a nice feel to it also. Would highly recommend this to people that love authentic thai food. We will definitely be back ....
