Restaurant Ruby Rouge - Montréal

We were walking around China town and decided to do DimSum. The place was busy with Asians which is usually a good sign food could've good. Unfortunately the selection was average to poor. Maybe 4 to 6 cart servers were trolling basically some limited options. I asked for simple shrimp dumplings but in an hour or so they never arrived even though they assured me they would. I tried some other items but they were of limited taste. When paid the server wasn't happy with the tip I left and told me so. The cheeky man! Has the food been decent I'd been more inclined to tip higher. I'd avoid this place for anyone who has had good dim sum before. Very disappointing!

Free tea with dishes from the carts. There is a section where you can pick up baked items like egg tarts. We weren't told but we went to check it out. You can also pick 3 items from the food bar for $5.25 for express lunch special between 11 am and 230pm. Or an item (small bowl) for $3.25.It seemed like only 3 carts were going around and serving.

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel I have to make an exception this time. WARNINGMany of the dishes have shrimp in it even though it does not say it on the menu. I can't eat seafood and when I received my pork dumplings, there were shrimp in it. We told the waitress and she didn't seem to care. Most of their dishes have fish. We ordered the pork spare ribs. Omg the look of them almost made me sick to my stomach. Half of what was served was fat and they were grey. She saw we did not eat them and when we told her they were disgusting she said ok and took them away. She even admitted that they were not quality controlled before leaving the kitchen. When we tried to get the attention of someone they looked at us and ignored them because we were not in their section. If you are not Asian you will get the bare minimum service. Especially if you go during the time of day where it is not busy. I noticed that the Asian people at other tables had way better service than we did. DO NOT GO HERE. Don't waste your money on this place. There are so many better places in Chinatown.

Ambience zero, no music and very strong tv in the Chinese post....Service very ordinary soup good without any more dough in the frying and in the oil....Good if you like the thick frying it is a good choice for you too it is like not enoughvitre that gives on the outside more than dirty!

We chance upon this place after asking the locals of where to eat upon passing by the Chinatown. Quite large eating area and you pick your choice of dim sim from pushing cart. We try their roasted pork which the skin is so crispy and taste good. Dim sim that we ate were as good too. Service from waitstaff were efficient and quick, like refilling up your tea pot and ordering of food. Restaurant area is clean as up to my expectation.And the food is not expensive. Overall we are happy that we have make a right choice to eat at this place.
