Contribuiți la feedbackOutstanding service, which is not always easy with a group of 20. They delivered, thanks to manager Seb and our lovely waitress Laurie.
Very pleasant place, lovely staff, delicious cuisine.
Had a great evening yesterday! Thanks to the whole team for the attentive service, delicious food, and perfect wine selection. We were all delighted:
I visited Quai No 4 to celebrate the birthday of a close friend of my wife and I. Quai No 4 is one of those restaurants that offer a really nice Montreal experience but is located in a shady part of town making it quite uneasy to visit it more than once. What I did not like at all about it is its location. It in the Rosemont Petite-Patri area which is fairly nice but the Masson Street where it is located is shady at best. I have never visited this street before but I could automatically notice the different kind of people and shadiness of the various streets. I took my own car and was really concerned all night long and I only parked it a block away from the place. While it is easy getting to the place using your own car, I strongly suggest you use public transportation or just take a taxi or an Uber. That is the ultimate peace of mind. Based on this, I don’t think that it is a good place for a date or a business meeting. You are probably better going there for a social gathering of some sort if you are from the neighborhood or know the area. The place itself is not bad. It is not very large and has an indoor seating area only. It is decorated in a very wooden feel and has tables suiting large and small crowds. We were a party of eight and were quite comfortable on the large table on the left side of the main door. But the air condition was extremely high and since it was a centralized one for the whole place, it couldn’t be lowered and we were hit full fledge by its air. So long story short, we froze for most of the time. The menu is quite interesting and they definitely have a lot of good items. Their fries for example were perfect and their appetizers quite generous. Although the food was good, I think there are better places with a better experience all around Montreal especially on St Laurent, St Dennis and the Griffintown area. One thing I would highly recommend at Quai No 4 are their cocktails. They have some of the best and they are quite large and generous. I ordered a whiskey as well and I was surprised that they did not have Johnny Walker Black Label. For a place with a nice bar scene and reputation for alcoholic cocktails, I would have expected them to have varieties which was not the case. Also, while the service was good and our waiter did a nice job in servicing our table and taking care of us, he was somewhat slow. Not a major point, but it adds to the matters that don’t help the review of this place. As for price, I would say that this palce is mid-range. I ended up paying $129 for me and my wife (an shared appetizer, one main course for each and two drinks). I think it is expensive for the offerin that they have especially that you can get high end meals for such a price somewhere else in Montreal.I have mixed feelings about this place. Personally I wouldn’t venture there again unless I have an occasion taking me there, but I definitely think that they have an offering that can suit people living close by.***Please like this review if you find it helpful. I purchased a Groupon style promotion, it was described a real Feast!! Valued at $65!! ended up been 2 cocktails and 5 tappas in one plate!! When I presented the server with my deception, he simply looked at me and said ''...well mam, you only paid $35...!'' With no regrets he said or any point in making this right....anyhow, I am not going back there!
